This was one of the very first corsets I ever made, and I learned a lot from it. It is based on Simplicity 2890, and I enjoyed researching and attempting several historic methods of sewing a corset. I also learned that a mock-up is a must! This corset is a single layer of matte silver and navy cotton, edged with bias binding. The entire corset is hand-sewn. The front closure is large hook-and-eyes and the lacing eyelets are hand-worked. The torso came out a little shorter than I wanted and the lacing gap a little bigger, but overall it was a very satisfactory and informative project.
