What is the "corset tab" referred to in the advertisements?

The “tab” is that little strap bit at the bottom of the brassiere that could hook onto your girdle to stop the two parts separating and riding up (or down) - having a separate bra and girdle was far more comfy and allowed more movement than an all in one long corset! The girdle was still often called a “corset” at this time :)
